Description
The Grand Preanger Aerowisata started out as a general store built in 1880's. The store catered for the successful Priangan Planters who used to leave their tea estates and agricultural plantations and come down to the town of Bandung to buy supplies and pick up the latest colonial gossip. In 1897 a Dutchman named van Deeterkom bought and remodeled the premises to a hotel. He named it Hotel Preanger. In 1928, the hotel was renovated by famous architect Wolf Shoemaker who introduced the new art deco style and the name was changed to Grand Hotel Preanger. In February 1996, the hotel changed name to become Grand Preanger Aerowisata.
