Enjoy this colosal, cosmic mountain.wich is one of the most imposing creations of mandkind - nothing else like it exsist ! Being one of the world's wonder this temple was built in the 8th century with 504 Budha statues, 72 stupas and marvelous manuscripts. The entire monument was conceived as buddhist vision of the cosmos in stone, starting in the everyday world and spiralling up to Nirvana. Other two smaller temple could be visited are Mendut and Pawon temples, built at about the same time as Borobudur, are aligned east-west and are thought to have been places for purification before entering the main sanctuary. Mendut temple houses the most outstanding statue of any temple in java that can can be seen in the proper place-a magnificent 3 meters high figure of Buddha, flanked by the Boddhisattvas Lokesvara on the left and Vairavana on the right.
